Spring where did you go??

We had a couple of beautiful sun shinning days!  Now the rain has started to fall.
Cold and damp.  I'm not complaining as I have a roof over my head.  It is dry and comfy here in the apartment.
Paul took me to lunch at "Lainy's Place" in Somersworth, NH.  It is a little hole in the wall diner.  I tried the Chicken salad on marble rye bread with a cup of home made chicken noodle soup.  The soup is just like grandma use to make.  You can smell the sage, and oh how comforting to taste this flavorful soup!  The sandwich was also very good.  Just enough mayo to hold the chicken together, lettuce and tomato made the perfect match!  Only problem that happened was, I could only eat half of my sandwich and the soup.  It feels so strange not feeling hungry all the time.  Now eating is on the back side of importance!
Bought a scale with nice wide platform, so I don't feel like I am hanging on a ledge, and big numbers so I can see what I weigh.  I weighed when I got home, of course I have to try it out.  If I am reading it right, I have lost 9 lbs.  Of course this is afternoon weight, maybe a wee bit more?  I have decided to weigh on Sundays and Wednesdays.  That way I can have a handle on this new feeling of empowerment!  Please Lord let it continue so I can get down to a size 16 before we move....
Now you ask, when are you moving?  It all is dependent on finding an apartment in Greensboro that is approved by my son & daughter-in-law.  If they don't like the neighborhood, we won't be moving there.  I would love to move this year, but it may not happen till next year.  So will have to wait and see.
Will get these old eyes taken care of first.  Thank the Good Lord that I paid attention to Miss G. in high school typing.  Cause I can not see clearly typing this.  Let my fingers do the walking on the key board....  Hopefully I have not done to bad on spelling!

Till next time,
Lynn

Old! What is that?

When did I get to be old?  I am 64 years young.  Not 64 years old.  Big difference there!

I finally was able to visit my eye doctor, Dr. Iorfino.  He is so good.  Got a chuckle out of him when I sat in the chair with my chin on the thing-a-ma-jig...
He checked my eyes than answered my questions:
"Why am I seeing double and triple?"
"Why is everything blurry?  Worse at night.  Have not driven since last December.  I have cataracts.  That is for old ladies and I refuse to grow old!!
Now I am looking at going to surgery May 6th for my right eye.  June 3rd for my left eye.
If 2 surgeries weren't enough in July I go in to have a tumor removed from my left fore finger.  This will be the second surgery on my left forefinger that I have had.

Good night all! Yes, I am now calling it a night!

When will all of the snow go away?

I told Paul that I thought it would be gone by the second week of April.  The snow is still here.  A little bit going at a time.  Going to bed with perception that when you wake up the snow will be gone till next fall.... I wonder now if the snow banks will be still here by the end of the month.
I am so looking forward not having to bundle up to take Lilia for a walk...

Today I received a card from my nephew Joel & his girlfriend Alexandra.  My goodness, they are going to get married September 6, 2015.  Hard to believe that he is old enough to get married!  I wish them the best of luck on this new journey!  I know we won't be-able to go to California for the wedding.  It feels so good to be invited.

I started a new book from the library.  100 things.  It is very discombobulated.   It seems to bounce time zones..... Forward and backwards.  I have only just started, so will wait till I give it any stars....

For supper I set up the crock pot, 2 spare ribs, 5 potatoes, and half a bag of frozen baby onions.  5 hours later it was done.  Of course I made a batch of biscuits and took 4 to my neighbor, Rosie, she loves my biscuits, I knew she would like that treat!

I have to take Lilia for her nightly walk.  Do enjoy the night with happy dreams!

Good night all,
Lynn

I want my money back!!

What happened?

Spring arrived, the air was clean and just the smell of new life was enough to make me happy!
Lilia and I were out every night going for our walk.  You would be surprised at how many cars are out at 10'ish.  We could sit on a park bench, checking out the sky for stars and of course the Man in the Moon.  Doesn't everyone look for the moon?  No matter where you and someone you know look up at the moon at the same time.  How awesome is that!
Tonight no walk.... Why not you ask?  We go out and it is snowing the ground is covered, can not see the cracks in the side walk.  Not a safe walk when one can not see anything clearly, and seeing double doesn't help!  Twice as many cracks to trip over.   The snow is coming down on a beautiful night....wait a minute!  This is suppose to be spring not winter!
Please, someone, anyone, let Mother Nature know she has made a mistake. It is suppose to be balmy weather, not cold like the middle of January....  The last time I spoke to Mother Nature, we had snow up to our arm pits.  Not going there again for a long time....
Please be safe where ever you may be.  If we are lucky this will be gone tomorrow and I will think it is only a dream!

Happy stamping!

Adventure Bound

I can't believe it is already spring.......
Well the sap buckets are hanging on the maple trees!  The calendar says spring began yesterday!

This morning it was snowing.  We still have snow covering the area.  We are just starting to see some bare ground at the edges of the snow banks.  I think it is going to be some time in April before we loose the snow.

Lilia has had some great fun playing in the snow.  As long as the wind isn't blowing so hard to knock her off her feet she would stay out as long as we would let her.

In our Luv 2 Stamp group, Patty gave us a challenge.   We were to create 2 cards and one 3-D Project.  Our project focus was on the Adventure Bound Paper Stack and the Adventure Awaits stamp set.  We were sent a packet to sue.  There was a polka dot bag, heart clip, note card, 4 1/4" x 11" card stock folded in half, wide ribbon, & vellum.  We had to order the paper and stamp set.  I added Very Vanilla card stock, Early Espresso Card Stock, Pool Party embossing powder, and a piece of Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.
I made an album for the 3-D project.  Using the bag for the outside cover. Very Vanilla card stock for the pages and applied the Adventure Bound Paper to that.  Album measures 5 1/4" x 4".  The flower is made from vellum -Fun Flower, Blossom, Pansy and Petite Petal punches were used,   Sponged Island Indigo Ink to the edges of the flower.  There are 12 double sided pages.  Photos can be added at a latter date.
The first card I used an craft knife to cut out an aperture for the vellum insert.  Stamped and embossed the saying.  Than applied to the card itself.  On the inside I added Calypso Coral shells.  Fussy cut them out after stamping.
The Note card I stamped the saying directly on a piece of A.B. Paper trimmed down to 2 3/4" x 3 1/4" applied that to a piece of Early Espresso card stock
2 7/8" x 3 1/2",  This was applied with dimensional's to 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of A. B. Paper.  The note card measured 3 1/2" x 5".
I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas to use the products that Patty sent to us.  I esp. love how the album came out!

Mini Magazine Holder

I have finished 1 set completely! It was so much fun to do.  Deb Valder does an awesome job on you tube.  Link below.  Her written instructions is off on 1 measurement.  So listen to what she says for the measurements.  Have a second one almost done...  Making it for a friend that loves frogs.  She will be so excited!!

So have fun my friends making this.  This set is for a customer that wanted a set of note cards for her sister-in-law.  8 cards/envelopes plus the holder....

So that is it for today.  Enjoy the rainy/snowy day or what is left of it.
