Saturday Blues

Thanksgiving started with no power from 5:45am to 9:15am.  As soon as power came on, I started the bread going for dinner.  Called downstairs to Bob's to turn oven on for the turkey.  Prepared turkey took it to Bob's oven.  Will be done by 1:30pm.  We are only running 30 minutes behind our scheduled dinner.  Deserts done Wednesday.  Sue, John & Mr. P. Nutt, Bob, Miss Kitty in next apartment from Bob, Paul & I.  Lilia stayed up in our apartment and ruled the roost!
We had a marvelous dinner, all ate as much as we wanted.  Turkey totally gone except very few pieces that I brought upstairs for Lilia and Prince.  Sue helped with clean up.  Bob and Paul returned table and chairs back to the closet, and I got John to take out the trash.  We all had things to do to get this done for all of us to enjoy.
Friday I was hurting, Lilia went to Day Care, and Paul drove me to Cornish to deliver Stampin Up order to Barbara.  Went over the Big Shot and totally overwhelmed the poor girl.  Found out that one of my customers was in the hospital so will hopefully get a card sent out to her by Monday.

Now for Saturday Blues:
Even thou Thanksgiving was busy and I did receive calls from my children, I have waited since for calls from the rest of the family.  For many years I have stepped to the phone and called my sisters and brothers (when I had their phone numbers).  This year I stepped back just to see if they would take the initiative to call their oldest sister.  No calls from any of them.  To busy for family.  I knew it would happen that they would not call.  Why should they?  Some day I will not be here.  Will they remember the cards sent?  Probably not.  Will I continue to mail them cards?  Yah, but not every month.  I would love a note from each of my sisters once in a while.  Everyone needs to feel needed and loved...  My friends call me to see if I am ok.  Beth makes sure I am ok by calling every Thursday and I so appreciate it.  Especially when I am feeling down.  She even says to call on other days if I just want to jibber jabber!  Beth is a very special friend, believe me when I say there are many times I do whine about my sisters not needed me, but they do talk to each other.

Now that I have that out of my system I am shutting this down and going to bed early after I take some Excedrin  for this Migraine....  Maybe tomorrow will be warmer all around....

Take care my friends!

Something to be Thankful for!

Today doing the Happy Dance!
About a month ago, my dear sweet loveable husband of mine...... lost his wedding ring while taking Lilia out for one of her walks.  My heart sank, just knowing it would not be found with all the leaves coming off the trees and Paul just not remembering just where he went that day.....
So I Prayed that it would be found some place like in the apartment? no such thing there....
Maybe on the way to Cumberland Farms through the grass.... nope came back empty handed.
I Prayed to God if it could be found please let it happen before going out to buy a new one.
I kept quiet about his ring, even though it bothered me greatly that here it is 11 days till our 44th Anniversary, and he LOST it....  Deep breath here....
Today I came back from taking a neighbor on an errand.  (Yes, on a good day I am allowed to drive)
Paul meets me at the door all smiles!  "Look what I found!"  He has his ring on!  He was walking Lilia and happened to look down on the side of the road at his feet a round shiny object!  He knows it is his because our wedding date - 12-05-1970 is on the inside.....
Praise God!  The ring has been found!  There have been storms with a lot of rain, leaves blowing around, and the kids up and down on their skateboards.  The ring has been found....
Yesterday, I mentioned going to Day's in So. Portland to have him measured....  Now we do not have to go....  The ring has been found!  Thank you Lord for this find.  God is Great!
Today is a Good Day!!

Why?

Why? Such a big question for just 3 letters.  We ask this question just about every day.  Why is it raining?  Why doesn't it get warmer?  Why can't my check be bigger?  Why does my friend have to have a sick child?  Why is there disease?  Why me?  Why not?  Why should it be me all the time?
We as children of God will always ask "Why".  I know God will never give us more than we can handle.  If it seems way more than we can handle we need to ask for His help.  Why is that such a big question to ask for the Lord to help us?  Why do we try to do it all by ourselves?  I can not do it by myself, can you?  Why not?
I am thankful that I do have God by my side to help me.  All I had to do was ask Him for help.  Not a hard thing to do.  Ask and you shall receive....  Of course it is all in God's timing.

Scrap booking day!

Yesterday, I went to Waterboro for a day of Scrap booking fun.... well most of the ladies were scrap booking!  Me, myself, & I were doing cards!  I tried out a new technique, to me anyways.  Taking SU ink refills and using a baby wipe as the stamp pad!  Beautiful wreaths!  Beautiful fall leaves were done!  Will try to get them posted on Monday!  I used Summer Starfruit, (never cared for the color) Perfect Plum, Garden Green, and Cajun Craze.  Very pretty when used all together!  I was very surprised, but just had to go outside my box!!  I did the $20.00 bucket raffle.  As all money gained is for Project Graduation, I felt it was worth it.  I did win a beautiful handmade necklace....  I know, you all are saying, but you don't wear jewelry!  I do know it will look good on a friend of mine though!!  A Christmas present done... Have plans on a few of them....  I was able to get a book 90% completed for another friend.  Have the cover left to do on that one!

Before we left for shopping I put in the crock pot, a small package of stew pork, 2 cut up potatoes, 1 large cut up sweet onion, grated garlic, celery flakes, vegetable paste mixed in with 3/4 cup of hot water.  It smelled so good when we walked through the door at 4pm!  I love having supper all ready after doing grocery shopping, don't you?

Went to Market Basket to get some groceries and nearly froze.  Guess either the fuel was never paid for to heat the place or someone just likes everyone to be cold!  Since I hate being cold, that was a very quick stop.  Went to Wal-Mart to finish shopping.  Was able to find a pair of slacks "JMS", to have for dress up.  Had a hard time finding anything back in August for a wedding that was in my size.  So picked them up today....  Paul found an orange tote to put Halloween decorations in.  There is room to add to it as well!  Will get a green one for Thanksgiving and red for Christmas!  We did find an angel ornament in Michelle's memory.  Will hang that in the window....  All of the Halloween stuff was marked down 90%.  Did find a couple of things for next year!

That is it for yesterday and today!  Both being good days!  Wow 2 in a row!!

Until next time have a wonderful evening!

Windy Chilly Day

As I sit pondering the ageless question, "What do I do now?"
Making a box with my SU box maker comes to mind.  So I turned on You Tube, where you can get valuable information to make just about anything that you want to make!.
I watch a video on making rectangle boxes.  How exciting to be able to do that!  I will now be able to make my own boxes to hold the yummy goodness of homemade cookies and fudge for my favorite people!!

Now if I can just figure how to get the link to post on my blog.......

Blue Moon

November 5, 2015
Tonight taking Lilia out for our nightly stroll, I noticed a ring around the moon.  It was bluish in color.  I find the moon fascinating.  Back when I was 6 or 7 I was at my grandparents, Grammy asked me to go to the pantry and get the oyster crackers.  She had made my favorite!  Oyster Stew!  A big pot of the hot milk with plenty of oysters swimming in it!  The memories I have retained are about my grandparents!  When I went to the pantry, I looked out the window and this large face was staring in the window, of course I ran screaming and dove under Grammy's bed!  She went to look and started to laugh... It was "The Man in the Moon".   We know that there really isn't a man that lives there on the moon, but if you look closely you will see the crevices of the moon surface that do resemble a face of a man.  Now as I am older I do find myself looking up at the moon at night to see if I can spot the "Man in the Moon".  Not tonight, but I did notice the bluish ring around it.  I looked up what this was and it is a Lunar Halo.  This is the explanation I read.  Fascinating don't you think?

The folks at the Farmer’s Almanac have a great explanation of it, and say, “A lunar halo is caused by the refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. As light passes through these hexagon-shaped ice crystals, it is bent at a 22 degree angle, creating a halo 22 degrees in radius (or 44 degrees in diameter).”
